Meeting at the tourism office of Tours 15 minutes prior departure where you’ll be welcomed by your driver

for a 30 minutes trip east of Tours to Amboise following the river Loire banks.

The château of Amboise ( Visit: 1h )

A royal dwelling

Built on a limestone cliff overlooking the town, a lot of fortifications and defensive fortresses were built there since the gallo-roman era. In the XVIth century, it became the royal dwelling of kings Charles the VIIIth, Louis the XIIth and François the Ist. These three kings made a lot of changes in the architecture, expanding and embellishing the chateau, and making the transition between the gothic period and the beginning of the Renaissance.

Chateau of the Ladies

The most famous and visited chateau of the Loire Valley was built on the river Cher in a natural surroundings where water and gardens combine harmoniously. Thanks to Catherine Briçonnet, the builder – Diane de Poitiers, the favorite lady – Catherine de Medici, the queen – and Louise de Lorraine, the widow,the chateau of Chenonceau was the setting of an incredible history full of romance and unexpected developpments.

The "Grand Siècle" style

Built in one go between 1604 and 1634, the classical white stone facade of Cheverny stands in the middle of an outstanding English Style garden. Still lived in by the same family, this chateau is an exception in the Loire Valley thanks to the unity of both its architecture and its rich inner decoration.

The dream of a King

Chambord is the biggest of the Loire Valley Chateaux, it has 440 rooms, 365 chimneys, one monumental double helix staircase and 76 secondary staircases. In the midst of a 13000 acres parc surrounded by a 32 kilometers wall, this majestic 156 meters long building is a symbol of the climax of the Renaissance.

1hour and 15 minutes trip back to Tours

following the river Loire banks and seeing the chateaux of Amboise, Chaumont sur Loire and Blois along the way

Back at 6.30pm

Your driver will drop you off at the tourism office of Tours
